TECHNICAL SUPPORT AGRONOMIST

Seeking a qualified person to fill a non-supervisory, technical support position in our growing plant products team.

Job duties include but not limited to:

  • Conducting field, lab, and greenhouse research studies
  • Preparing draft technical reports, summaries, and presentation materials
  • Interacting with local growers, greenhouse operators, and cooperators to perform experiments
  • Travel with and provide technical support to sales team on a regular basis

Applicant should be dependable, inquisitive, self-motivated, detail oriented, be able to follow directions and work independently. Local travel may be required.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of field experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an agricultural related field such as agronomy, soil science, crop production, ag business, or horticulture.
  • Must be knowledgeable in vegetable, fruit, nut, and grape crops plus have experience working in a farm environment.
  • This position requires traveling. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE – EAST COAST REGION

This position is responsible for the sale of the organization’s products in a specified region or major geographical area and provides ongoing support to product distribution channel. Incumbent works directly with distributors to sell agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and biological products. Plan and implement sales and marketing plans for the assigned territory.

Job duties include but not limited to:

  • Assists resellers with organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
  • Becomes actively involved in a new resellers sales orientation and sales training programs.
  • Assists resellers with contract negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing plans for contract accounts.
  • Assists with the planning of sales exhibits.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.
  • Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining resellers and assisting resellers in attaining new accounts.
  • Troubleshoots problems regarding products provided.
  • Answers questions from resellers and handles complaints.
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Required Education and Experience:

  • At least five years of field sales experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an agricultural related field such as agronomy, soil science, crop production, ag business, or horticulture.
  • Must be knowledgeable in vegetable, fruit, nut, and grape crops plus have experience working in a farm environment.
  • This position requires up to 70% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.

JR. GRAPHIC DESIGNER/MARKETING ASSISTANT

Seeking a full-time Marketing Assistant with a background in graphic design and advertising to join the the Marketing Department.

You will be working with designs for marketing materials, print ads, promotional collaterals, and assist staff with special events.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create new and update existing marketing materials including but not limited to catalogs, flyers, brochures, postcard, direct mail pieces, and emails.
  • Assist in the development/brainstorming of unique and innovative concepts to create advertisement for new campaigns and plans.
  • Collaborate on implementation of website updates, design, email marketing and social media.
  • Organize inventory of marketing materials and equipment for tradeshows and events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Marketing or a working experience equivalence.
  • Minimum of 1 year design experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Excellent skills in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines with high-quality work in both team and individually environment
  • Photography, video skills and knowledge of HTML, UI/UX is a plus

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Seeking an energetic, motivated, organized person to fill our Human Resources Assistant position. In this full-time position, you will be a key player in the Human Resources Department, with the opportunity to provide better services to all employees and participate in improving employee benefits with other team members.

Job duties and responsibilities will include:

      • Maintain employee contact information and compile reports from the database as needed.
      • Participate in recruitment efforts: advertisement, administer pre-employment tests; conduct reference checks, and matters pertaining to recruitment.
      • Conduct new-employee orientations; assist in onboarding and organizational training.
      • Participate in benefits administration.
      • Help coordinate internship programs.
      • File government mandated and other employment related reports as needed.
      • Help conduct performance appraisals.
      • Assist in the exit interview process.
      • Keep records of safety meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Administrative Assistant at the Union Ave facility is responsible for administrative and general office management duties; some of which are of a confidential nature. Other duties, but not limited to, will be to help the Operations Supervisor, QC (Quality Control), and other staff to manage and organize their workflow in an efficient, effective and service-oriented manner. It is a non-supervisory position and you will report to the Animal Nutrition Division.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

      • Support Operations Supervisor, QC, and other staff in managing day-to-day work flow and help keep them organized and on track.
      • Process orders received from Ventura customer service both international and domestic, collaborate with Ventura customer service to keep all interested departments aware of production schedule.
      • Responsible in logistics for dispatching/shipping/delivery.
      • Perform in Inventory Control of raw materials and finished products; requisition processing, ordering, inventory record updating & reporting, and physical inventory reconciliation.
      • Collaborate with Ventura Personnel to report/submit bi-weekly timecards and payroll, attendance, and injuries.
      • Keep records of all activities.
      • Responsible for answering, screening and transferring phone calls.
      • Coordinate training, meetings, visitor accommodations, and events.
      • Prepare and distribute meeting agenda, write meeting minutes and training logs.
      • Coordinate maintenance of office supply inventories and office equipment.
      • Maintain and improve office work environment.
      • Resolve administrative problems and inquiries.
      • Perform administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

      • 2-3 years of experience in customer service and/or office administration.
      • Expert knowledge of MS Office.
      • Excellent verbal, oral and written communication skills.
      • High level of attention to detail/organization.
      • Excellent customer service skills, in person, on the phone and in writing.
      • Willingness and ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and demonstrate flexibility.
